Vegetarianism

I managed to finish Peter Singer and Jim Mason's book The Way We Eat: Why Our Food Choices Matter while on an airplane to CA. It's a very disturbing book, and is a good followon to The Omnivore's Dilemma. I've been trying to shift my diet away from meat, and this book provides a lot of good reasons why I should try and continue.

  1. So, we just picked up the "Dilemma," and in going through it together, my wife and I are trying to decide how far we go. Veggie, organic, non-pesticides, no hormones...

I thank you for the other book recommendation, I think I need to check that one out next!

  3. I'm managing to eat almost entirely vegetarian at lunch. Dinner is much trickier.

It's kind of interesting when I explain why I'm eating a more vegetarian diet. I characterize it as "economic", whereas as most people I know who are vegetarian have ethical or religious reasons.
